When creating the campaign for the recent Upcycled release, I wanted it to be fresh, minimalist & natural. To genuinely represent the designs & what the collection embodies.
There was only one person that came to mind to front this campaign.
For as long as I’ve known Kelsey, she has lived a clean, active and conscious lifestyle. Always riding or walking to get from A to B, sourcing fresh & organic produce and never being anywhere without her keep cup.
As our Upcycled collection is focused on sustainability by reducing waste, recycling goods and supporting slow over fast fashion, we felt it was only fitting to ask our girl Kelsey what sustainability means to her & what she does to live greener.
What does a sustainable lifestyle mean to you?
The world is moving so fast that a lot of us don’t think twice about our actions. I give myself time to evaluate situations and choose my actions based on not what is quick and convenient, but what is the most beneficial to my surroundings and me. We get too caught up in everything and it’s important to make a difference where you can.
What do you do to live more sustainably?
- I ride instead of drive to work, it not only wakes me up in the morning but I love being outdoors in the fresh air and there’s no stress involved, it also ticks off part of my exercise for the day
- I grow my own fruit & veggies and compost any food scraps
- I have a keep cup and a bamboo straw I take everywhere with me!
Why is sustainability important to you?
The world is fast evolving and I believe we all need to do our part to help savour what we can. Especially with what’s already come upon us this year, I believe it’s important that we do what we can and value what we’ve been given.
What is one thing people can start doing today to be more sustainable?
Try changing your commute to work, whether it be ride instead of drive or if riding isn’t for you try adding in a walk in along the way
What's in your bag?
I always have my keep cup with me (you can obviously tell this is my best friend) and my bamboo straw. I also have a resistance band to keep me active from my desk at work and if I’m on the go, I’ll always take a water bottle with me because you can always find somewhere to refill it!
