Shop Better

Shop Better

At Tinka the Label we strive to be as ethical and sustainable as possible, and these values are no different for me personally.

I often get asked where I shop for clothes, but truth be told it’s not so much the labels or particular shops that I have in mind when wanting a new article of clothing, but rather a thought pattern.

Recycle, Repurpose, Reuse: DIY Shoes

During my recent "Spring" clean, I stumbled across some things in my wardrobe that I couldn't bring myself to giving away or selling. But I also couldn't see myself wearing them either. So I decided to reinvent them.

Savannah (oh na na)

Savannah (oh na na)

With our new line of hair accessories now available for pre-order, we thought we'd show you a few ways they can be worn - because if you were thinking they're just for Spring Racing, you were wrong.

soundtrack

To those who know me, it's no secret that I'm a die hard movie buff (to the point my friends often comment how much I relate everything back to movies). This is also where I discover a lot of music, so it's only fitting I share my top movie soundtracks of all time...

Inspired, Desired

Inspired, Desired

It's quite rare that I look at other designers for inspiration, but when the characters in the TV shows you watch and women you admire just so happen to rock jaw dropping jewellery, it's hard not to be inspired. I have to admit, it didn't take long to create my top 3, but that's easily expected when these women seem to get it right. Every. Single. Time.

Getting to Know...Grace Ireland

Getting to know vintage style queen Grace Ireland. There's very few influencers on the gram whose style I find to be their own, but our girl Grace Ireland is someone who doesn't clone. Her rocker chic aesthetic and killer vintage finds always has me wanting to raid the nearest vintage store.

My 90's TV icons

The nineties may be circulating in the fashion industry right now, but for a kid growing up IN the nineties, these women were my style icons; both then and now.

Tinker

For most designers, a sketch is drawn in great detail so even those without a creative eye are easily able to visualise the design. This is not the case for me...

Heart & Stone

Heart & Stone

Although some may find horoscopes and healing properties of gemstones a little airy fairy, I like to see them as guidance. Now I wouldn’t go as far as to say I live my life each day in accordance to what they predict, but if it gives a little hope, then I say “what’s the harm?”

Back to the 80's

It's hard to believe the end of the 80's was 30 years ago (emphasis on 30), but no matter how much time has passed, this magical era keeps making its way back into modern day fashion - and let's just be thankful some have stayed in the past where they belong!
